Maple Tree
Kenny Klein
In the fields where we meet for our gathering
At our ritual site in the pines
There’s a tree so tall and swaying
Where peace and vision I find
It is a place of no sorrows
It is a place of rest
And if I did die tomorrow
It’s there that my spirit will rest
Now when my time is over
This world no longer I’ll roam
Meet me in the shade of the maple tree
When Diana calls me home
Its branches climb up like a tower
Its leaves hang down like a throne
And in my final hour
That maple will guide me home
So come all my dear friends and relations
And the girl that I love the best
Come look for me by the maple tree When I do take my rest |
